The position of CAD Operator is responsible for working with the Sales and Project Management departments to design integrated system projects such as Fire Alarm, Security, and Suppression Systems, within budget and schedule, to the approval of the customer, and in accordance with project specifications, drawings, codes, and regulations. The successful candidate should have a working knowledge of the codes/standards related to Life Safety Systems.
Job Requirements
- Using AutoCAD to prepare project submittal drawings that include device placement plans, riser diagrams, device circuit wiring, control cabinet layouts, voltage drop calculations, and battery calculations.
- Ability to generate submittals – drawings, bill of material, calculations, technical manuals, record drawings
- Assist in presales estimating to help determine the most cost effective solutions for labor and material
- Ability to setup and conduct meetings with local Authorities Having Jurisdiction to present submittals and gain approvals
- Ability to work on multiple projects with varying deadlines
- Minimum 3 years of experience working in AutoCAD or associates degree in CAD Drafting
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to work on multiple projects with varying deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, reading and understanding construction drawings
- Ability to deal effectively with employees at all levels within the organization as well as customers and vendors
- Ability to pass background check and drug screen required
